Ponent family housing’s main distribution is based on the idea of functional spaces built mainly on the ground floor as to accomplish an easy connection between the main chambers.

The Building is placed on the northeast front of the plot, as to keep some space for the garden on the southern façade. The access to the House is done through the entry ramp and the garden, reserving some space for the owner’s cars. The interior spaces mainly situated on the ground floor with openings on the south façade to take maximum advantage of the sunrays and the views during the day. The bathrooms and other secondary rooms face north, giving some privacy and protecting from unwanted views.

The kitchen and the living room conform the common rooms of the house. Double spaces and huge glass surfaces help enlarge the perception of wide spaces, not only connected between them, but with the garden. The porch not only serves as a transition space between the inside and outside of the house, but as a new room to colonize.

The first floor houses a single room that could serve as a guest room, playroom for the kids or a studio, with views from the Montseny mountain range, which give a quiet and calm atmosphere to the space. The first floor is interconnected to the ground floor through the double space.

Bioclimatic functionality:

  • Southern principal fixed glass façade to absorb solar energy during the day.
  • Orientable slats: Opened during winter and closed on summer.
  • Optimal cross ventilation
  • Sun protection with the help of orientable blinds.

Low impact dry construction:

  • Wooden counter-panel structure
  • Thick isolation materials
  • Ventilated concrete foundation
  • Porcelain ventilated façade
  • Green roof

Air conditioning by radiant floor. Rainwater recovery to water the lot’s vegetation.
